Madeline is the Fruit Crops Extension Educator for the University of Minnesota. In her role, she supports a wide range of fruit growers across Minnesota, focusing on both new and established growers. Her work emphasizes supporting new growers and helping established growers adopt practices that support sustainable production, which has led to a broader interest in sustainable agriculture. Through her work, Madeline also hopes to help growers have the tools needed to transition to organic agriculture, as she currently serves on the Organic Fruit Growers Association (OFGA) board and is a contact person for the University of Minnesota Transition to Organic Partnership Program (TOPP). Each fruit crop has their own unique needs and culture, and through her work, Madeline hopes to leverage the effort it takes to understand the basics of caring for fruit crops, so growers can more easily adopt best practices.
