As the organic specialist for the Minnesota Department of Agriculture, Cassie works with both certified organic farmers and farmers who use sustainable practices. A highlight of her position is organizing the annual Minnesota Organic Conference, which features many educational sessions and opportunities to network with ag businesses, farmers, educators, and service providers who support organic and sustainable production. Cassie has a B.S. in biology from Grand Valley State University and a M.S. in sustainable horticulture with a minor in sustainable crop production from the University of Minnesota.
